Bereavement in the family is a devastating experience. It can unsettle the mind and send the near ones into confusion. In order to ensure that all the honors due and decorum to our dear departed ones, Honolulu Memorial Park (HMP) has a wide variety of services to assist the bereaved to a successful and satisfactory closure of the sad event. The HMP offers surroundings which facilitate the healing process in harmony with nature. HMP nestles between Nuuanu Avenue on the one side and the rising slopes of the Pali Hills on the other.
The Nuuanu Stream from the upper reaches of the Rain Forest area of the Pali Hills wends its way over the picturesque Kapena Falls and ripples through the park, refreshing the Alekoke pool as it flows on the way to the ocean. The ambience in the park is one of complete peace and solitude. Even the hiss of tyres on the Pali Highway a hundred feet or so above on the slope cannot be heard. In the pervading silence one can sit and commune with one’s self in deep contemplation.
