Honolulu Memorial Park is home of Kyoto Gardens and two columbarium structures, Kinikaku-ji and the Sanju Pagoda. Both structures are replicas of similar buildings in Japan. These two beautiful temples are used for the respectful and public storage of cinerary urns.

Honolulu Memorial Park was established in 1958 and the Kinkaku-ji memorial and Sanju Pagoda were constructed from 1964-1966. The US National Park Service has also placed these structures as part of the
US National Register of Historical Places worthy of preservation and provides a cultural resource for future generations.
Kyoto Gardens

The picturesque gardens are located halfway up Nuuanu Valley which extends seven miles from the sea to the Pali cliffs. The park and the gardens are a great place to visit for followers of the Buddhist faith and it is a truly gorgeous site.
